My father lost his battle to Esophageal Cancer after 10 months; he was diagnosed in August 2024. My father will be cremated and then his ashes will be taken to Mexico to be buried next to his father. The cremation has been paid for and the funds will go towards his funeral service which will take place in Mexico City and for his headstone.
(Edit 06/04/2025 I was notified yesterday that there will be no cost for a funeral service because his ashes will be placed in burial niche next to my grandfather, the funds will go towards airfare to Mexico City to lay my father to rest along with a ceremony/celebration of life with immediate family)
I don’t have many words at the moment so I apologize for making this so short.
My father had an amazing sense of humor and a big heart. I will never forget you, Pa, and I will carry your memory with me on all my adventures to come. I will always love you….
Here is the beginning of a poem I am writing for my Father.
- Until the end of my days, I will look for you in the sky
- I will search for you in the stars until my eyes dry
- I will reminisce over you when I need to drown out the noise
- When I am lost, I will search the wind for the echo of your voice
Thank you, everyone, for your support and for reaching out.
