Eddie Velazquez, Eriberto or Flaco to some, was involved in a horrible incident in California, where he resided. He suffered a traumatic brain injury, and the injury was too much for his body and doctors to overcome. Sadly, my Papi passed on 5/18/2025 in his hospital room, surrounded by some of his children, Just days after his 62nd birthday. He so bravely requested to be an organ donor, and his liver and kidneys went to three people who have spent years on dialysis waiting for transplants. Everyone who knew Eddie knew he had a loving soul and would give his shirt off his back. I know he's proud to have been able to help those three in the selfless way that he did. We'd like my Papi to be reunited with the rest of his family back home in Boston, where he belongs. I hope we can all come together to celebrate his legacy and give him the beautiful memorial service he deserves.
