Edward "Eddie" Ingersoll was diagnosed with gastric cancer in 2020. After a courageous battle, he went into remission, but in 2024, the cancer returned and spread. He began treatments again and fought with everything he had until November 2025, when he and his family made the decision to enter hospice care. Surrounded by loved ones, Eddie passed away at home on March 7th, 2026. Throughout his journey, he was deeply touched by the kindness of others—receiving care packages from families and patients who understood the challenges of cancer treatment. These small acts of generosity brought him comfort and hope during difficult times.

Inspired by his experience and his unwavering faith, Eddie felt called to give back. He often handed out tiny Jesus figurines to strangers, sharing his love for Christ and spreading encouragement wherever he could. Now, Melanie and her family want to honor his memory by continuing this legacy of kindness. They plan to create care packages for patients receiving chemotherapy at UAMS, filled with waters, puzzle books, stationary items, blankets, fuzzy socks, snacks, lip balms, lotions, uplifting messages, and more. They also hope to provide lunches or snacks for the dedicated medical staff who cared for him.
