Honoring Dymon Atkinson: Serving the Homeless with Love
On Saturday, May 23, 2026, I will be hosting a community outreach event in loving memory of my dear friend and sister, Dymon Atkinson.
Dymon was a proud alumna of North Carolina A&T State University, where she graduated in 2021 with her Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Originally from Goldsboro, Dymon later moved to Columbus to begin her career with Honda.
I met Dymon in 2022 through my hair business, and we quickly formed a bond that would grow into sisterhood. Her love for God drew us close, and before long we were inseparable. We attended church together, had countless girl nights, and she was always present at family gatherings, so much so that she became family.
Dymon’s beautiful smile, unwavering faith, and loving spirit will forever be missed. I had the privilege of volunteering alongside her on multiple occasions, and it was clear how much giving back meant to her. Serving others wasn’t just something she did, it was who she was.
In honor of Dymon’s heart for service, I am organizing a food giveaway for the homeless community in downtown Columbus. This event is a way to celebrate her life by doing something she truly loved, blessing others.
