Honoring Dusty and Supporting Malarie's road to healing..

Dear Friends, Family and Community,

With overwhelming sorrow and shock, our family is reaching out to share a tragedy that has completely changed our lives forever. On June 6, my dear cousin Dustin Smith and his fiance Malarie LaPointe were victims of a devasting vehicle accident.

It is with absolute devastation that we tell you Dusty passed away from his injuries. Words cannot describe the pain of losing him so suddenly, and our world feels incredibly dark without him. Our deepest focus right now is wrapping our arms around his children, Bryson(5), Ryland(4) and his and Malarie's brand new baby girl- one month old Darla, who are now facing life without their daddy.

While we are all engulfed in grief for Dusty, Malarie miraculously survived - but her fight is far from over. She is currently in critical condition at the hospital facing a long, painful and deeply difficult road to physical and emotional recovery. As a mother, her biggest motivation is fighting to get back home to her children- Audney(13), Sadie(12), Grant(9) and baby Darla .

As we navigate this agonizing blend of mourning for Dusty and rallying around Malarie, we know the financial burdens will quickly begin to pile up. We are coming together to launch this GoFundMe to lift the immense financial pressure off the family during this unimaginable nightmare.

Your donations will help to cover the sudden, overwhelming costs of Dustys funeral and memorial services and to establish a support fund for his children, as well as the mounting hospital bills for Malarie and everything that comes along after such an immense tragedy as this. No family should have to worry about rent, medical debt or funeral costs while mourning a life cut short and praying so hard for another to be healed. Please consider donating if you are able. If you are unable, we ask that you please share this link and keep Malarie, their precious children and families in your constant thoughts and prayers.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, support and most importantly, prayers.
