Dustin Eric Long was a kind and innocent soul who brought love and warmth to our family every day. Though he was low to non-verbal, Dustin always found ways to show he cared, offering us comfort and affection in his own special way. He shared a unique bond with his autistic twin, Dylan, and was cherished by his mother Donna Long, sister Michelle Rote, brother Michael Long, and nephew Ryan Long. Dustin’s love for cartoons, especially Lilo & Stitch and Curious George, brought smiles to our faces and filled our home with joy.
On April 2, 2026, Dustin tragically passed away after an elopement accident in Springfield, Missouri. He wandered onto I44 and was killed by a bus, leaving our family heartbroken and facing unexpected expenses. Dustin’s absence has left a space that can never truly be filled, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
We are raising funds to help cover the costs of Dustin’s cremation and the celebration of his life. Any leftover funds will be used to support Donna as she cares for Dylan, especially after losing Dustin’s SSI benefits. During this incredibly difficult time, we are asking for any support you may be able to give—whether that’s a donation, a share, or simply keeping our family in your thoughts. Every bit of kindness helps ease the burden and reminds us that we’re not alone in this. We are deeply grateful for any help, love, and support. Thank you for standing with our family and honoring Dustin’s memory with us. The celebration of life will take place on April 26th from 12:30 to 4:30 at Dolling Family Center in Springfield, Missouri.
