DJ Thompson dedicated his life to serving others. For 34 years, he worked in active law enforcement, always putting his community first. After earning his PhD in Public Safety Leadership, DJ continued to give back by teaching and mentoring others in criminal justice, sharing his knowledge and passion with students and professionals alike. He was a humble hero, never seeking recognition or attention, but always ready to help those in need.

On March 1st, DJ began feeling unwell, and by March 3rd, he was rushed to the ER with chest pains. He suffered a severe heart attack and underwent multiple surgeries, including a stent placement and life-saving interventions in the ICU. Despite the tireless efforts of medical staff and DJ's own strength, his heart stopped, and after days of fighting, he made the brave decision to let go. DJ's passing has left a profound void in the lives of his family, friends, and all who knew him.

We are creating this GoFundMe to help cover the enormous medical bills left behind and to honor DJ's legacy by launching a Police & First Responder scholarship program. This annual scholarship, managed by his surviving wife and son, will continue DJ's passion for training and supporting those who serve our communities.
