Dr. Nestor R. Carabajal, aged 78, passed away on June 29, 2024, at his home in Henderson, Nevada. Born on November 12, 1945, in Santiago del Estero, Argentina, Dr. Carabajal was a distinguished cardiothoracic surgeon renowned for his work at St. Joseph Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was instrumental in developing the cardiovascular program for numerous years. He was a man of many passions, living a life marked by his love for music, adventure, deep connections with his family and his beloved Campo in Cordoba.
Nestor was known for his strong will, confidence, and enthusiasm for life. His adventurous spirit led him to travel extensively, yet he remained deeply loyal to his roots and family. A passionate individual, his hobbies included music, traveling, biking, fishing, woodworking and string instrument restoration.
He is survived by his soulmate, Ellen; his children, Veronica Shaughnessy (Dan), Nestor (Amy), Andrew, Byron, and Christian; his siblings, Mercedez Carabajal de Bordon, Ana Maria Carabajal de Alcoba, Mario Carabajal; and 6 grandchildren (Kyle, Rhys and Alexa Shaughnessy, Amelia, Avery and Arden Carabajal). He was preceded in death by his parents, Maria Elsa Barbero and Nestor Carabajal
