Honoring Dr. Culbert's Legacy in Education
Donation protected
Even if you never had Dr. Culbert as a teacher, you've had Dr. Culbert as a teacher. Dr. Culbert represents the best of teachers -- the ones who love you during an unfathomably hard time, the ones who inspire you, the ones who encourage the misfits to believe in a bright future for themselves.
On April 23, 2024, Dr. Culbert passed away having celebrated a 30 year tenure as a beloved high school English teacher. His work took place in a small corner of Washington state, but his impact is all over the world.
And this great man, who loved to read and talk about books with young adults, is no different than about every teacher in America. He toiled long hours -- early morning and late nights -- and he did the best he could to care for his family on a modest teacher's salary.
Now his family, after caring for him, is trying to make ends meet with funerary expenses that cut into his life savings, which were needed to cover the care of his wife.
If you have it in your heart to support the Culbert family, it would mean a lot to him, his family, and all teachers around the world who deserve to be compensated for the incredible impact they've had on our lives and the lives of our children.
