Honoring Dr. Christopher (Chris) Alexander's Legacy

We are heartbroken to share that Dr. Christopher Alexander of Hoover, AL, and Athens, GA, passed away on Saturday, November 30, after a long and courageous battle with illness. Chris was a remarkable man with a heart large enough to hold everyone he knew and loved. He was an extraordinary educator, a dedicated family man, and a friend to so many.

Chris earned his PhD in English Rhetoric and Composition from the University of Louisville in 2010 and went on to inspire countless students as a faculty member at the University of Georgia. He wasn’t just a teacher—he was a mentor, a cheerleader, and someone who deeply cared about his students’ success, always going the extra mile to provide thoughtful feedback and encouragement.

Chris’ love for his family was unparalleled. His wife, Linda Torok, was the love of his life, standing by his side every step of the way. His mother, Beverly Alexander, and his sister, PJ Godwin, were with him in his final days, offering comfort and love. He is now reunited with his father, David, but leaves behind a grieving family, countless friends, former students, and colleagues who were touched by his kindness and brilliance.

As Chris wished, no formal memorial service will be held. However, we are asking for support for his beloved wife, Linda, during this incredibly difficult time. Your contributions will help alleviate the financial burden of medical expenses and other costs, allowing Linda to focus on healing and cherishing Chris’ memory.
