She was one of the first pediatricians to join TopLine MD, recognizing the power of physician-led networks and she set the gold standard for clinical excellence by becoming the first pediatrician in Miami to achieve PCMH certification, proving that her private practice was more than a clinic—it was a sanctuary of coordinated, high-quality care.

For over thirty years in private practice, Dr. Castro was the steady hand for thousands of Miami families. She saw children grow into parents, who then brought their own babies back to her for the same trusted care. She balanced this immense professional weight while raising four children of her own alongside her husband. This dual residency in motherhood and medicine gave her a unique empathy; she didn't just provide medical advice, she offered mother-to-mother wisdom that resonated deeply with her patients.
