Dr. Alice Walton — a minister of the gospel, the warm voice behind the NAACP Radio Broadcast, a gifted author, songwriter, and devoted community leader — passed away unexpectedly on January 11, 2026. Alice opened her heart to everyone who needed her, offering wisdom, encouragement, and practical help. Her sudden passing from a pulmonary embolism which led to pneumonia has left a deep void in our family and community. We are raising funds to honor Alice’s life and ensure her spirit of compassion and creativity lives on. The funds will be used to establish the Dr. Alice Walton Journalism & Arts Scholarship for graduating high-school seniors who demonstrate a passion for writing, journalism, and the arts. This scholarship will support young writers and artists — continuing Alice’s lifelong commitment to mentoring and uplifting the next generation. Please consider donating whatever you can. Every gift — large or small — will help launch the scholarship and keep Alice’s legacy alive. If you’d like to help in other ways (volunteer on the scholarship committee, share this campaign, or provide grief support resources),
Thank you for your love and prayers.
