Support for Doug Mathis’s Final Farewell

As many of you know, our dear friend Doug Mathis passed away on 1st March after a long and courageous battle with Merkel Cell cancer.

Amidst her grief, Doug's wife Colleen has been hit with a distressing and unexpected hurdle regarding Doug’s final wishes. He had intended to donate his body to scientific study, with his remains to be cremated afterwards and his ashes scattered at sea. Colleen was led to believe this donation would be facilitated at little to no cost; however, she was informed today that the "gift" would actually cost thousands of dollars to process.

This is simply not an option for her right now. Consequently, Colleen must now find the funds for a private cremation so that she can still carry out the rest of Doug's wishes.

Our immediate goal is to raise $2,000 to cover the cremation and admin costs. Any funds raised beyond this amount will be applied to a celebration of Doug’s life and the final step of his journey: scattering his ashes at sea as he requested.

If you are able to contribute anything at all to help ease this financial burden for Colleen and help us see Doug's wishes through to the end, it would be more appreciated than words can say.
