Hi everyone — this is something we never imagined having to write. Our dad, Doug Herzog, tragically passed away in a house fire on November 20, 2025. This was a shocking and heartbreaking loss for our entire family. 

Many of our dad’s friends and family have reached out asking how they can help. I’m creating this fundraiser to support my siblings and me with the immediate expenses related to his house, legal fees, and to help us honor his memory.

Our father lived a joyful and full life. He was not only an incredible dad but also the best brother, an amazing son, and someone who built lasting friendships. All of us loved him dearly. He was a fantastic coworker, leader, and chef. He had been creating a menu for a restaurant he was helping to reopen. He poured his heart and soul into this restaurant, and would have been so proud to see it open. Everyone who worked with him in the food world spoke highly of him and the impact he made on their lives. We are so very proud of the fulfilling, happy life he lived and the legacy he left, but this still feels so unreal.
