Honoring Doreen Rouse's Memory
Donation protected
We want to say thank you for all the love and support we have received over the unexpected loss of our mom, Doreen Rouse. The many comments and kind words and messages have helped us cry our tears and remember her through the eyes of so many of you. Our mom was the pillar of strength in our family. She held us together, helped us when needed anything at all and took so many adventures with her kids and grandkids in tow. There is so much we will miss with her being gone.
Many of you have known her as a pillar of strength within the ministry, standing alongside Pastor Ted for over 30 years and others of you are friends or extended family who remember Doreen as someone always willing to go out of her way to give a hand and visit and help in any way she could.
We have lost the most incredible mother we could ask for. There do not seem to be enough words to describe the loss and devastation we are feeling this week. It is an unexpected loss for our family and for the first time, we feel like we are navigating so much alone. Within our family and the ministry, there is so much new ahead for each of us, without her here. We prayed together and thanked God for two wonderful parents that raised us to rely on God's guidance and His peace and that is what we are doing as we move forward.
Our mom was a tribal member and the tribe she belonged to is helping out with some of the costs of her funeral and burial expenses, but even with the tribal assistance, the cost is sudden and significant for our families. She planned and prepared to be buried with our dad in Calumet, Michigan, so all four of us children along with our families will also have significant travel costs in the coming months for her burial service.
Many of you have asked how you can help us at this time. Helping with the many funeral costs and further travel and burial costs is our greatest immediate need. None of us were expecting this and we'd be incredibly honored and grateful if you'd consider a monetary gift to help with us these costs, in memory of our mom, Doreen Rouse. We've already had the total amount of everything we need discussed with us and we are left with a total of about $5500 (after gofundme fees). This amount does not include the travel costs for her burial, so we are hoping to raise $6000 at least and anything above and beyond, we'd use for her upcoming burial in Upper Michigan and for whatever other costs may arise.
We thank you for your kindness and consideration to help ease this process and remember our mom with love at this time.
Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 5th at 6pm, at Hartson Funeral Home in Hales Corners, Wisconsin with visitation between 4-6pm. Here is the link to her official obituary. Read Doreen's Obituary Here
