Our dad, Don Loomis was recently diagnosed with cancer in December 2025. He began a slow treatment of infusions and prepared for a hip replacement in the spring. After recovering from the hip replacement, his CT scan showed that the cancer was spreading, and he was in the process of receiving a new treatment when his liver succumbed to the cancer. It was just at the end of July when he was going to begin his chemo, when he was told his liver could not support the treatment. He left us on August 1st, surrounded by the love and care of my mother, Laura, and sister, Iana, in HIA Heather’s House.

My parents had just settled into their new apartment after downsizing this spring. Now, on top of grieving, many expenses remain — from his care to helping my mother move forward.
