Honoring Don Brunswick

Don was a husband, father and grandfather who loved his family more than anything. He was born in Hillsboro to a family of eleven including his twin brother. He was diagnosed with cancer sixteen months ago. He was a true fighter of the disease and never felt he wanted to give up! He had many friends, co-workers and family members who loved and cared about him from his High School years as a star Fullback for Hilhi, to his years in the Army's Old Guard, to his working years as a union carpenter as well as his retirement position with Hillsboro Schools. He loved being with people, giving his all to helping teachers and staff at Poynter Middle School as well as Liberty High. He had a charismatic personality and calm demeanor, a contagious laugh which always made people smile along with him.

Don lost his battle with cancer the afternoon of September 14, 2023. He is best remembered by those who knew him well for his positive attitude, strength, perseverance as well as his never ending eagerness to help others. He will be sorely missed.
