Honoring Dominick Sam's Miraculous Life

My name is David, and I started this GoFundMe for the memorial service for our beloved nephew, Dominick Sam, who sadly passed away Monday, January 5, 2026.

He was a miracle from the very start. When he was born, the doctors said he wouldn’t survive 24 hours. Then it became days. Then months. Time after time, Dom proved them wrong. My brother prayed over him as a baby and called him a miracle man, and that name stayed true throughout his life.

By the grace of God, Dom was given 19 years with us. Though he was born with a condition that caused him to suffer (requiring many surgeries over the years), while being unable to walk, talk, eat by mouth, or speak, Dom never needed words to show who he was. He could never tell us how he felt or what he was going through, yet he always met us with the same innocent, gentle smile. No matter the pain he may have been carrying, his smile remained; a quiet testimony of his purity, resilience, and the love he carried within him.

Dominick is survived by his devoted mother, Saaja Rivette-Sam, his big brother, Christian Sam, and his big sister, Jordyn Sam.

We truly believe that just as God’s grace allowed us the gift of time with Dom, it is also God’s mercy that has now called him home. He is no longer suffering. He is whole. He is at peace. He went on ahead and joined his father Michael in a better place. I am confident they are now together, patiently waiting for the day we will all be reunited again in heaven.

In this time of deep loss, we are asking our community, friends, and loved ones to come together and help us raise the necessary funds to give Dom the proper send-off he deserves. Any donation, prayer, or share means more than we can ever express and will help support his family during this incredibly difficult time.

“The joy of the Lord is your strength.”
Nehemiah 8:10

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.”
Revelation 21:4
