Coach Digger Touched Many Lives — Help Us Honor His Legacy

We are heartbroken to share the passing of Digger. A larger-than-life presence with a heart to match, Digger was the kind of person you never forgot. In fact, the only thing bigger than his heart was his personality.

Whether it was his booming voice, off-the-wall humor, or the way he remembered every kid’s name, Digger had a special gift for making people feel seen, valued, and loved. When a player walked by, he’d usually call out something funny or unexpected, not to embarrass them, but to bring a smile to their face.

He dedicated much of his life to coaching and mentoring young athletes, but his influence extended far beyond that. Digger had a deep impact on fellow coaches as well — guiding, supporting, and challenging those around him to be better. His energy and experience made everyone around him sharper, more passionate, and more committed to the game.

Though the last few years were difficult, much of Digger’s spirit was dimmed after the heartbreaking loss of his mother, someone he was incredibly close to. Around the same time, he faced another deep blow when he was let go from the very soccer club he helped build from the ground up. These losses took a toll, and while he never fully recovered, they don’t define the man so many knew and loved.

His true legacy lives on in the joy, growth, and connection he brought to so many. The stories being shared and the love pouring out are a testament to the difference he made in people’s lives — as a coach, mentor, teammate, and friend.
