Diane Crego+Alzheimer's Association
Tax deductible
This year on September 12, my mom, Diane Crego(aka Momma C/Lady Di), will turn 72. To honor and celebrate her, I want to raise $2000, where 100% of what you donate will go to the Alzheimer's Association. In case you don't know, my mom was diagnosed with dementia in 2014. She, along with 5.7 million others, lives with it today and with each day, continues to decline. Sadly, by the time you are done reading this, someone else will be diagnosed. It is a brutal disease to watch take over her. I often wonder, what her reality is, what is going on in her mind. I don't have any doubt that her soul, her heart shines everyday. I am grateful that she is not agitated or angry. She is surrounded by the love of my dad, who is with her 24/7 along with the unwavering support of our at home care taker, Emma. More than a caretaker, Emma has truly become family. Over the years, watching the decline and daily struggles, my mom no longer can be alone, or do any function that many of us take for granted. She has moments of clarity, where her personality lights, and her voice comes thru, yet that window gets smaller with every visit I take. If you know my mom, she was always full of life, never shy to strike up a conversation with stranger, make anyone around her smile and laugh. She gave of herself her entire life, always putting those around her first. She worked in the Gwinnett County school system for 25+ years, where students and friends called her "Lady Di". My mom LOVED Princess Diana, hence her nickname. I was thinking, what could I get my mom for her birthday? The gift of giving back and helping others in need was an easy choice. This platform provides the opportunity for those who may or may not know me, or Lady Di to give a little to help an amazing organization. The Alzheimer's Association is the leading non-profit, where your donation will help others in need and hopefully, in my lifetime, a chance to find a cure for this horrific disease. Thank you for taking the time to read this, forward it on, add it your FB page, IG or wherever you can spread the word. Appreciate the love and support of all my friends and family.
