Honoring Derrod: Covering Final Expenses
Donation protected
Derrod Mathison passed away on April 1st, 2025. What a cruel April Fools!!!
During COVID in 2020, he developed a lung infection and had been on oxygen for 4 years. His other organs had to work too hard to compensate for his lungs, and he went into multiple organ failure.
Most of his organs were unsuitable when he died; however, he was able to donate his corneas for transplant to a matching candidate and give the gift of sight.
He lived a fairly lonely life. He wasn't a people person, but he sure loved his animals. At the time of his passing, he had a 13-year-old Chihuahua and a 5-year-old standard poodle.
They have been inconsolable and had to be split up to find the best homes for them both.
Due to ongoing illness, Derrod (Ryan) left this world owing money to several people/bills, his bank account was in the negative, and he had no burial/cremation insurance or savings set aside.
We, who are left of the family, have been supporting his needs while he was ill, had not prepared or planned to be responsible for his final expenses.
We kindly ask anyone who feels inclined to donate to this fund in order to help the family with the tremendous burden of costs that come with end of life.
We are very grateful for any and all!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
