It is with a broken heart that I share the passing of our father, Derrick Holmes, who lost his battle with cancer. Dad fought as long and as bravely as he could, but cancer took more than his health—it took time we thought we still had. Derrick was a loving father, a steady presence, and someone who always showed up for the people he loved. Even while battling illness, he put others before himself and stayed strong for his family. Watching him fight cancer was heartbreaking, but we are grateful that he is no longer in pain.

Our family is now facing the emotional and financial weight that comes after losing a loved one. Medical bills, funeral and memorial expenses, and day-to-day costs have quickly become overwhelming during a time when we are simply trying to grieve and heal.
