We are heartbroken to share the unexpected passing of Derek , a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend whose loss has left an immeasurable void in the lives of everyone who knew and loved him.

Derek was the kind of person who made people feel safe, welcomed, and cared for. With his linebacker build and teddy-bear heart, he brought laughter, loyalty, and warmth wherever he went. Whether he was cooking an incredible steak, putting together the perfect charcuterie board, talking anime, relaxing on Florida beaches, cheering on the Baltimore Ravens, or reminding everyone (loudly) to update their passwords as a dedicated cybersecurity specialist, Derek lived fully and loved deeply.

One of Derek’s greatest joys was his beloved bulldog, Grumpy, who was more than a pet he was family. The bond they shared reflected Derek’s gentle nature and the deep love he gave so freely to those around him.

His passing was sudden and unexpected, leaving his family not only grieving but also facing significant and unforeseen financial burdens. We are asking for support to help cover funeral and memorial expenses, as well as other unexpected costs that come with such a devastating loss.
