If you knew my beloved late husband Derek Barrette, you knew that working hard to support his family was his priority. Dream big, work hard, and enjoy time with your loved ones.

Unfortunately Derek recently lost his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He passionately believed in his daughters, Jehlivia Fernandes and Bella Barrette, having the opportunity to pursue their educational, athletic, and creative interests. He believed that with the right opportunities, they'd be able to achieve whatever they set their mind to.

In the last few weeks, he was faced with devasting news from his doctors, and was forced to consider what was most important for him to protect his family's future. During these conversations, he expressed his wishes that his daughters continue on the educational path they have started at his alma mater, La Salle Academy, and that they would be able to attend college. Although we have savings for their education, we assumed that Derek would have many more years to save before retirement.

To honor Derek's wishes, our family would greatly appreciate any contributions to fund Jehlivia and Bella's education.
