In Loving Memory of Deputy Katherine Frank EOW 10-12-2026

Following the devastating events of October 9, 2026, Katherine fought bravely for her life. Sadly, she succumbed to her injuries and passed away on October 12, 2026, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Katherine was more than her badge. She was a beloved sister, daughter, granddaughter, girlfriend, and friend. Her family describes her as incredibly funny and someone who gets along with just about everybody. Outside of work, she enjoyed spending time with her two dogs, Ares and Aspen, reading, cooking, and playing video games. She leaves behind five siblings, ages 28, 24, 23, 21, and 15; her grandparents, Dan and Deb; her boyfriend, Austin; and her beloved dogs. She was deeply loved, and her loss is felt by so many.

The Minnehaha County Deputies Association is organizing this fundraiser to support Katherine’s family during this unimaginable time. Our hope is to ease some of the financial burdens so her loved ones can focus on one another as they navigate this heartbreaking loss. Every donation is a meaningful expression of support. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is another way to help.

Donations will be collected and administered by the association’s authorized representative for the benefit of Katherine’s family.

Katherine, thank you for your honorable service, your laughter, and the joy you brought to so many. To her family and everyone who loves her, please know that our law enforcement family and community are here to stand beside you.
