I know some of you have already heard but our family has experienced another unexpected, recent tragedy. On July 14th, Denise suffered a series of incredibly rare hemorrhagic strokes and passed away, comfortably with her family on July 15th at only the age of 52. Over the last year, Denise has given everything to care for her family and community while maintaining a full time job. She has been the primary caregiver for her husband, Reggie, who is a quadriplegic- following an incredibly rare spinal stroke leaving him paralyzed from the neck down last July.

We have lost our irreplaceable rock, our non-relenting fighter, and our compassionate mother. If you knew Denise, you knew these 3 things:

-she is selfless and would do ANYTHING for those she loved

-she believes in working hard to accomplish her goals

-her feisty spirit is not one to contest with and brings all those who knew her a great party story

This has obviously been a very difficult time for our family while trying to navigate best options on how to fill this void and best honor her. With that being said, the cost of the medical bills, searching for 24/7 care for Reggie, funeral expenses, and lifestyle changes are something we can’t run from and are very burdensome.

I have put together a GoFundMe in an effort to help alleviate some of this unprecedented loss and allow Denise to rest easy knowing her husband is well cared for. Access to resources have been scarce for the extent to what is required for the family, and losing our greatest asset in Denise is an indescribable feat. For those of you who have offered your prayers, words of comfort, and monetary donations, my family and I want to offer our sincerest thanks. We are so lucky to have so many in our support system. We absolutely feel your love during this phase.
