Honoring Denise Serrano’s Beautiful Legacy

Denise Marie Serrano fought a sudden and incredibly difficult battle with cancer. She was admitted to the hospital on November 1st, received her terminal uterine cancer diagnosis on November 13th, and on December 13, 2025, she peacefully went home to be with our Lord and Savior. Her cancer progressed rapidly, leaving her too weak to continue chemotherapy after her first treatment. Even so, she fought with everything she had. She ran her race with faith and courage, and she took her final breath at home, surrounded by her children, wrapped in love until the very end.

Our mother was fearless in conversation and full of heart. She never hesitated to speak her truth, whether it was what you wanted to hear or not, and she showed up for anyone who needed her. Anyone who met Denise would tell you she could talk your ear off, and we wouldn’t have had it any other way. That was part of her magic!

She was a proud and devoted mother to her three children, Drea, Andrew, and Jacob, and a loving wife to her late husband, Andy. Her family was her whole world. She loved fiercely and unconditionally, always making sure each of us felt seen, valued, and deeply loved. She cherished her children's partners, thanking God daily that they found their soulmates and true happiness.

We are so proud of our mother for the strength she showed throughout this fight. She did it for her children, her grandchildren, and everyone she loved. This was the fight of her life, and she didn’t give up easily, especially because she had four beautiful granddaughters and another grandchild on the way. She longed to watch them grow, to witness their first steps, their baptisms in Christ, and all the milestones still ahead. She spent countless hours talking with her dear friends about how much she loved her family and how proud she was of each one of them.

Our mom loved deeply and without limits. From feeding and listening to someone experiencing homelessness, to stopping to comfort a stranger in the middle of a tragedy on the side of the road, she had a heart for everyone. Denise touched more lives than we could ever count! Her impact on this world will never be forgotten.

If you never had the chance to meet her, everyone would say the same things: Denise’s love was one of a kind! She could talk for hours, was stubborn as a race horse at times, dreamed bigger than life, never lost her faith, and carried a compassion that filled every room. Whether you knew her for a moment or a lifetime, she made you feel like family, and like you truly mattered.

Our family was not prepared for such a sudden and devastating loss.
This GoFundMe has been created to support Denise Serrano’s three children and their families during this unimaginable time. Funds will help cover end-of-life expenses, final medical bills, unexpected travel costs, and lost wages for two of her self-employed children. Andrea and Jacob have been especially impacted as they grieve and work alongside their brother Andrew to close their mother’s affairs. Unfortunately, Denise did not have life insurance or adequate health coverage, and the financial burden has been overwhelming.

We are deeply grateful for any support, prayers, or shares during this difficult season. Losing our mother so close to Christmas has filled our hearts with profound sorrow, but also with peace, knowing she is reunited with Jesus and her beloved husband. As our dad always said, it’s never goodbye… it’s “I’ll see you later!”.

Until then Momma, Rest in Paradise with Dad!

We love you beyond words, with all our hearts and souls!
