Help Us Honor My Hero Mother's Memory

My name is Anthony Newell, and I'm reaching out during the most difficult time of my life. On August 17th, I lost my mom, Denise, in a tragic car accident when another driver slammed into the back of her vehicle. In her final moments, my mother showed the incredible love and selflessness that defined her entire life - she wrapped her arms around my 12-year-old nephew and saved his life. While we are heartbroken by her loss, we are forever grateful that her last act was one of pure heroism.

My mother was more than a parent - she was a protector, a caregiver, and the heart of our family. Even in those terrifying final seconds, her instinct was to shield and protect the child in her care. Thanks to her brave actions, my nephew survived with his life, though we will all carry the weight of losing her forever.

I am currently two years into my sobriety journey and working hard to rebuild my life. I'm a parent to four children and we have another baby on the way. My mother was one of my strongest supporters during my recovery, always believing in my ability to create a better life for my children.

With my only other family member currently incarcerated, I find myself as the sole person responsible for arranging my mother's funeral. Despite my efforts to get back on my feet, the unexpected costs of a funeral are beyond what I can manage while supporting my growing family.

- Memorial arrangements to honor my mother's memory

- Any remaining funds will help support my children during this difficult transition

My mother deserves a proper farewell that reflects the loving, protective person she was. I want to give her the dignified service she deserves and create a place where her grandchildren can come to remember the grandmother who would do anything to keep them safe.
