My sister Debbie Lucas and I were only 13 months apart, and we shared a bond that was truly special. Growing up, Debbie was always artistic—she loved to draw and create beautiful pictures. As an adult, she explored many paths, from working as a dog groomer in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to becoming a caterer in Las Vegas so she could be close to our dad. After our father passed away, she returned to Oklahoma City, went back to school, and became a medical coder. Debbie faced many changes and challenges, but she always found a way to move forward with strength and grace.

In recent years, Debbie found happiness living in Wichita Falls, Texas, with her boyfriend Ricky Brazeal. She was surrounded by friends and truly enjoying life, gathering with neighbors on their shared patio and making the most of every day. Tragically, on April 20, 2026, Debbie's life was taken from us in an act of senseless violence. She was shot by someone she once considered a friend, and despite the efforts of paramedics, she could not be revived. Debbie did not have life insurance, and her sudden loss has left our family heartbroken and facing unexpected expenses.

I am raising funds to help cover the costs of Debbie's cremation, her memorial service, travel to Dallas for the cremation, moving her belongings from Wichita Falls to Oklahoma City, travel for the memorial, and travel for court dates related to the trial. Any support you can give would mean the world to me and our family. We are struggling finically and grief stricken. Debbie loved everyone, and I would be grateful for any memories or photos you can share. Even her Facebook quote says, 'Let Love Mend All Sadness.' We are still waiting for the medical examiner to finish his report. We are needing donations to help if possible. Not that any time is good for this, but I was just diagnosed with extreme stenosis to my back and heart problems, so Dr's have draining me. Anything will help. Thank you!
