On Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 11th, my mom, Debra Lee Koehler, was removed from life support after fighting her way back from three heart attacks and a stroke. Since her hospitalization on May 5th, she had been making slow, steady progress towards the goal of an operation to help her heart heal and be on the road to recovery. Tragically, she suffered a massive brain bleed on the evening of May 10th with no hope of recovery.

Debbie was kind, loving, compassionate, and always willing to lend a hand without question to support those who needed it. She had a laugh that you couldn’t help but join in on whatever she found so funny, especially if she let out her signature snort. That was the sign your abs would hurt after the giggle fest was over. Her love of 80’s hair bands always made for unexpected dance parties and crazy stories from concerts past.

The only thing Debbie loved more than being a mom was being a grandma. She leaves behind two daughters and their husbands, six grandchildren, and many loved ones who will miss her dearly.

Losing mom so suddenly has left us not only in emotional devastation but mounting financial challenges. We are raising funds for funeral and memorial service expenses and support for her family during this incredibly difficult time.
