Honoring David: Supporting Rachelle & Homestead

On February 24th, the sudden and unexpected passing of David Rousseau left Rachelle Dufour, his life partner, and his beloved children, Thomas and Rafaelle, grappling with profound loss. Alongside them, their permaculture homestead, brimming with many of David’s unfinished dreams and aspirations, now stands as a testament to his legacy.

Despite his valiant efforts in managing his health following a diabetes diagnosis five years ago, David's body succumbed to complications stemming from his condition.

In the wake of this tragedy, we humbly seek financial support for Rachelle and the cherished permaculture homestead affectionately known as "the Old Caravan." With the main source of income reliant on David's expertise, Rachelle now faces the daunting task of restructuring her livelihood. Our goal is to alleviate Rachelle's financial burden, allowing her the space and resources needed to navigate her grief and prioritize her well-being, which has been deeply affected by the strain of caring for David. Concurrently, we aim to ensure the seamless continuation of the farm's operations.

Le 24 février, le décès soudain et inattendu de David Rousseau a laissé derrière lui sa compagne de vie, Rachelle Dufour, et ses enfants bien-aimés, Thomas et Rafaelle, ainsi que leur domaine de permaculture regorgeant de ses rêves et aspirations inachevés.

Malgré sa lutte courageuse contre un diagnostic de diabète il y a cinq ans, David gérait sa santé avec vigilance. Malheureusement, les complications liées à sa maladie ont finalement eu raison de lui.

Face à cette tragédie, nous sollicitons humblement un soutien financier pour Rachelle et le domaine de permaculture affectueusement appelé "la Vieille Caravane". Comme la principale source de revenus dépendait de l'expertise de David, Rachelle est maintenant confrontée à la tâche ardue de revoir sa manière de subsister. Notre objectif est de soulager le fardeau financier de Rachelle, en lui offrant l'espace et les ressources nécessaires pour traverser son deuil et prendre soin de sa santé, profondément affectée par le stress des soins apportés à David. Parallèlement, nous nous engageons à assurer la continuité fluide des activités de la ferme.
