I never imagined writing these words. On Thursday, March 27, 2025, our family lost the heart of our home—David Summers, a devoted husband to our mother Sherry for 30 years, a loving father to five children, a grandfather to two (with one on the way), and a friend who touched countless lives. There are no words big enough to hold our love for our dad, or deep enough to contain our grief. He wasn’t just our father - he was the steady hands that built our home, the warm voice that calmed every storm, and the living proof that quiet strength and unconditional love could exist in one extraordinary man.

The Man We Loved:

The way he’d smile when Mom entered the room after 30 years of marriage. Through his unwavering support and commitment of his children, being their #1 fan. His deep love of his grandchildren, being a devoted ‘Papa’ to his first grandson Kota and embracing the excitement of the anticipated arrival of his grandson, Oliver. He stood as the pillar of our family and in our hearts, he always will be.

What Happened:

On Tuesday, March 25, our Dad was rushed to the hospital by paramedics. Placed on life support, Dad fought courageously, but tests confirmed no chance of recovery. For three days, we kept vigil by his hospital bed telling stories through tears, holding his hands as machines kept his heart beating. Surrounded by his family’s love, he passed peacefully on Thursday, March 27. Taking his last breath on his own terms saving his family from having to make an impossible decision. As we held him, we played his favorite Classic Rock music, shared our beautiful memories and whispered our saddest goodbyes.

Dad was our rock—a man who provided and always put his family first. Now, we’re faced with overwhelming medical expenses, funeral and travel costs, and the emotional toll of losing him so suddenly. We want to give him the memorial he deserves, despite the unforeseen costs that come with such a heartbreaking situation.
