A Son, a Father, a Grandfather, and a Man Who Touched So Many Lives

It is with a shattered heart that I am creating this fundraiser for my father-in-law, David RollingCloud Jackson, and the family he leaves behind.

On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at approximately 2:20 a.m., our world changed forever. Our family received news that no family is ever prepared to hear. David had passed away unexpectedly while driving a tour bus in Wyoming, doing something we all know he loved so much.

David experienced a sudden medical emergency behind the wheel, causing the bus to cross three lanes of traffic before eventually rolling. Thankfully, the band members aboard the bus survived. Tragically David's life was lost.

What makes this loss even more heartbreaking is that none of us knew David was living with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). David was also epileptic. Although the exact medical emergency that took his life remains unknown, the autopsy revealed that he had already passed away before the crash. When paramedics arrived at the scene, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

There was no warning. No time to prepare. No chance to say goodbye.

One moment, David was out doing something he loved, and the next, his family was left trying to comprehend a loss that feels impossible to put into words.

David lived in Minnesota, but he passed away in Wyoming. Before we can even begin the process of laying him to rest and bringing our family together to say goodbye, we first have to get David home. The distance between where he passed and where his loved ones are waiting makes an already devastating situation even more difficult, both emotionally and financially.

As his family tries to navigate the shock and heartbreak of losing him, we are faced with the unexpected expenses of transporting him back to Minnesota, along with the funeral expenses that follow.

No family should have to worry about how they will afford to bring their loved one home while they are still trying to accept that he is gone.

That is why I am reaching out and asking for help.

David was so much more than the circumstances of his passing. His life touched people in ways that extend far beyond our family.

He was a huge part of the music industry, a world he loved and was deeply connected to. Through his work, the miles he traveled, and the people he encountered along the way, David became part of a community that reaches far beyond any one place.

He was also part of the recovery world, a community built on shared experiences, strength, hope, and the understanding that sometimes the people who make the biggest difference are those who have walked alongside others through life’s hardest moments.

His passing is a tremendous loss for the people who knew and loved him, for those who shared the road with him, and for the communities he was part of throughout his life.

David leaves behind his mother, four children, and three grandchildren, along with many other family members and friends who now have to figure out how to move forward without him.

A mother has lost her son. Four children have lost their father. Three grandchildren have lost their grandfather. And so many people have lost someone whose presence in their lives can never truly be replaced.

I am asking for help on behalf of our family during one of the most heartbreaking times we have ever faced.

We are trying to bring David home to Minnesota, give him the celebration he deserves, and allow the people who love him to come together to grieve, share memories, and celebrate the life he lived.

Every donation will help relieve some of the financial burden of transporting David home and covering his funeral expenses. No amount is too small, and every single contribution will mean more to our family than words can express.

I understand that not everyone is in a position to donate. If you cannot give financially, please consider sharing this fundraiser. You never know who might see it, who knew David, who worked alongside him, who traveled with him, or whose life he touched through music or recovery.

If you knew David, please share a memory. If you worked with him, please share this with others in the music industry. If you knew him through the recovery community, please help us reach the people who may want the opportunity to support his family.

Right now, we are asking those communities, along with our friends, family, and anyone whose heart is moved by our story, to come together and help us bring David home.

We cannot undo what happened. We cannot take away the pain we're all feeling. And we cannot replace the time we should have had left with him.

But we can come together to make sure the cost of bringing him home does not become another burden his loved ones have to carry alone.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who donates, shares this fundraiser, sends prayers, offers condolences, or helps us reach others who knew and loved David. Every act of kindness means more than you could ever know.

David deserves to come home to Minnesota, surrounded by the love of the people who will carry his memory with them forever.

Please help us bring David RollingCloud Jackson home.

With love and gratitude,

Danni.
