David Adam Candlish 10/20/80-1/6/26
We are so sad at the unexpected and heartbreaking loss of David. David entered the hospital on December 2nd and walked into heaven on January 6th after a long, hard-fought battle with complications from Covid. He wanted to live! He still had horse shows to go to, rodeos to judge, and football games to coach! Although he questioned why he was so sick, he never complained. After it was determined that David could not survive this devastating disease, he still gave of himself. David became a Lifelink donor and he was able to be a superhero for families right here in Florida who were waiting for kidney and liver transplants. We pray that his gift will bring joy and hope to the person and families impacted by our loss of David and be a testimony and example of Christ's love and sacrifice for us.
We love him so much and are going to miss him forever...at least til we join him "after we get our work done here...we'll see you in just a few days," which is what we told him as he peacefully entered heaven. David has such a large, loving network of friends and family all over the country, and we are grateful for that. As this was such an unexpected event and loss, we are just not prepared for the expenses that it brings. We have no idea as yet what his medical expenses will entail but know it will be sizeable with the length of stay and level of care he required.
As his community and family, if you would like to honor David's memory by giving and support his deeply grieving family, you can give here, and the funds will be directed to his family so that David can have the Celebration of Life he so deserves. Any funds received in excess of what is required will be donated to his favorite place...The Hollie-Brewer Adaptive Rodeo to be used to jumpstart their Adaptive Rodeo Ranch. Had David lived, he would have been their first resident and, likely mayor or sheriff! This ranch is very much needed in our area for people just like David.
