When you think of Da’Shaun Green, you immediately think of warmth, quiet strength, and unwavering faith. At just 19 years old, he carried himself with an effortless grace and kindness that touched everyone he crossed paths with. His entire world was anchored in the values that mattered most: his walk with Christ, his devotion to his family, and his passion on the football field. He was doing everything right, working diligently at his job, thriving in his college studies in Sports Management, and building toward a future full of promise and purpose.
On the morning of August 3, 2026, our collective hearts were shattered when an evening celebrating a friend’s birthday in Oak Park, Michigan, was stolen by unimaginable violence. Dozens of rounds fired into the home took the precious lives of Da’Shaun and 18-year-old Teris King. Da’Shaun was never just a name or a statistic; he was a beloved son, brother, teammate, and friend whose dreams were stolen far too soon. Yet, the pure light and love he gave to this world cannot be dimmed.
In Da’Shaun’s memory, we are uniting in purpose through a peaceful Justice March—a gathering to surround his family with unwavering care, demand truth and accountability, and champion an end to the violence stealing our youth. Every contribution helps bring our community together safely, providing food, water, sound systems, permits, and resources to build an atmosphere of reverence and unity. A meaningful part of these funds will also help us ease his family's burden by securing Da’Shaun’s permanent headstone, ensuring his final resting place stands as a beautiful, dignified testament to the remarkable young man we will never forget. Whether through a donation or by passing along his story, we are deeply grateful for your support as we stand hand-in-hand to honor his life and demand the justice he deserves.
