Losing someone close to you is never easy, but losing multiple loved ones in such a short time is a heartbreak beyond words. On Thursday, we lost our beloved Daphne Braxton — a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose love and compassion touched everyone she met. Daphne had a gift for making people feel seen, heard, and cared for. She went out of her way to help anyone in need, and she welcomed others into her life with open arms and a warm heart.

This loss comes just a year and a half after the passing of her husband, Marcus Braxton, in March 2023, and a year after the passing of her daughter, LaTasha Braxton, on July 4, 2024. LaTasha fought a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis from an early age, but the disease eventually took its toll. Daphne now leaves behind her son, Tyus Braxton, and her 14-year-old grandson, Trae Braxton, who has endured the unimaginable — losing both of his parents, his grandfather, and now his grandmother and adoptive mother — all before the age of 15.

Trae is a resilient and determined young man with big dreams for the future, but he needs our help to get there. The funds from this campaign will go directly to Tyus Braxton to cover the celebration of Daphne’s life and to ensure Trae has the resources and support he needs in the years ahead.

Daphne and Marcus both spent their lives giving to others without hesitation. Now it is our turn to give back — to honor their legacy of love and generosity, and to stand by Tyus and Trae during this time of immense loss.
