It’s hard to put into words the loss that so many are feeling after the passing of Danny McVey Jr.

Danny was an Air Force Veteran that loved by more people than he probably ever realized. The overwhelming outpouring of love, stories, memories, and support from friends, family, and even people who hadn’t seen him in years speaks volumes about the kind of person he was. He left an impact wherever he went, and his absence is being felt by an entire community.

Danny was a son, a brother, an uncle, a godfather, a best friend, and someone who always showed up for the people he loved. He had a heart that made people feel welcomed, valued, and cared for. While our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the memories, laughter, and love he shared with all of us.

His sister shared these words about her brother:

“One of my first memories, was the day you were born. Being a big sissy was the greatest job I’ve ever had. There’s no a time in my school life he wasn’t there. Right by my side. My best friend. My whole world. My first son. My son’s God father. My friends were your friends and yours mine. We didn’t know how twins felt but man we had our own intuition. My heart hurts. It’s fucking shattered man and a million little pieces. I never knew a bigger heart in this whole world. A heart to big to stay here. I’m gonna miss my best friend. My babies are gonna miss their uncle Danny McVey Jr.. 30 years werent long enough my guy. If there’s any silver lining here, it’s that that big heart has no more pain. Watch over my kids, we all need you now. Send our parents and the babies all the signs. They need you! Until I get there and see your beautiful smile again, I love you, you fuck.”

As the McVey family navigates this unimaginable loss, they are also facing the unexpected expenses that come with laying Danny to rest. We are creating this fundraiser to help ease that burden and allow them to focus on grieving and healing during this incredibly difficult time.

All funds raised will go directly to the McVey family to assist with funeral expenses and other unexpected costs associated with Danny’s passing.
