On December 20, 2025, Daniel Thompson III, a bright and loving first grader at a local public school in Buffalo, passed away due to complications associated with pneumonia. From the very beginning, Daniel was a fighter. Born several months prematurely, he overcame tremendous odds and endured an extended hospital stay before finally going home to begin his life surrounded by love from his mom, dad, and older brother.
Despite ongoing respiratory challenges and severe allergies, Daniel lived his life full of joy, light, and love. He played football with the Buffalo Vets and enjoyed basketball and soccer—often right in the house. Daniel had a kind heart and a gentle spirit, showing love to everyone he met. He was imaginative and creative, spending countless hours role-playing with his older brother and cousins.
Daniel’s sudden passing has placed an unexpected financial burden on his family during an incredibly difficult time. We are asking for your support to help honor and celebrate Daniel’s beautiful life. All donations will go directly toward funeral and memorial expenses, allowing Daniel’s parents to focus on grieving and saying their final goodbyes to their beloved baby boy. Any contribution—big or small—is deeply appreciated. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page and keeping the Thompson family in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for helping us celebrate Daniel’s life and the light he brought into this world.
