If you had the privilege of knowing Dan, you know what a wonderful impression he left on every person he met. He was kind, thoughtful, funny, and “strong as an ox,” as some would say. But most importantly, he was a follower of Christ.
In February of 2022, Dan received a diagnosis that no one should ever have to endure: cancer.
Treatment brought surgeries, chemo, radiation, hospital stays, pain, uncertainty, and so much more, but it never took away who Dan was. With his beautiful wife, Megan, by his side, he kept loving people, growing his family, praying, serving, and trusting God.
In the midst of his suffering, Dan continued to profess the goodness of God.
On September 7, 2026, with his wife by his side, Dan was called home to his Lord and Savior. He left this earthly home and walked into the arms of Jesus.
While our hearts ache, we can rejoice that the battle is over and that he now dwells in the presence of God.
“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” — Philippians 1:21
We grieve because we loved Dan deeply. But we do not grieve without hope.
While we rejoice that Dan is with Jesus, we also know the weight of his absence is now being carried by Megan and their boys.
After more than nine years together, Megan is now facing the reality of life without him. There is a grief that cannot be fixed, questions that cannot be answered, and days that will be harder than others. There will also be practical and financial needs that she should not have to carry alone.
If you feel led and are able, you can help carry some of the financial burden through this fundraiser as Megan and her boys navigate this new season. Lastly, we ask that you please keep Megan, Dean, William, and Noah in your prayers.
Dan spent 33 years on this earth, and the last four and a half years showed us what it looks like to trust God even when life hurts. He wanted his life to make much of Jesus.
Now, we have the privilege of honoring him by helping to care for his loved ones.
Because of Christ, this separation will not be forever. Until then, we will grieve. We will pray. We will love as God first loved us.
For Dan.
For Megan.
For their children.
