My name is Gregory Settles, and it is with deep sorrow that I share the tragic loss of my son, Damian Ward, who was taken from us on July 19, 2025, in a devastating domestic incident.

As our family grieves this unimaginable loss, we are now faced with the urgent and unexpected financial burden of laying Damian to rest. While Damian did have life insurance, the nature of this tragedy has led to complications, and we are currently in a holding status awaiting a decision from the insurance company on when, or even if, the payout will be granted.

In the meantime, we are raising $35,000 to cover the funeral, memorial service, and other related expenses. These costs are immediate and pressing, and we are turning to our community for support during this deeply difficult time.

Damian was deeply loved by his family, was a devoted father, a cherished son, and a friend to many in the DMV community. His loss leaves an irreplaceable void, and we want to honor his life in a way that reflects the love he gave and received.

Any remaining funds raised will be placed into a Trust for his young daughter, ensuring that her future is supported as we preserve the memory of her father.
