My cousin Alice lost her dear mum, my aunt Cynthia, to cancer. While her cremation and burial costs are taken care of, cousin Alice herself has taken seven months off with unpaid leave and also wanted to create an avenue for anyone who knew Cynthia to lay flowers at the site of her final resting place on the family land in the Catskills.
Aunt Cynthia was a loving generous soul. A bright light to many, who folded everyone she met into her own family. To be friends with her was to be taken care of by her.
Like many of her generation, she found success on foreign shores while triumphing over personal pain and loss, raising her amazing children on her own. They say it takes a village. Aunt Cynthia was a village. She was mother friend, confidant, a safe space, and a hard edge all rolled into one.
All donations will be put towards the purchase of peonies, (her favorite) to be laid down at the time of her burial.
