I am Cindy Quintanilla-Mora, one of the granddaughters of Consuelo Hernandez. Although everyone has their perspective on my grandma, this one is from my family.

Consuelo Hernandez is survived by her 4 children, 16 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

To say she was deeply beloved is an understatement. Consuelo Hernandez was one of the core matriarchs in our family. She was strong, caring, protective, brave, independent, thankful, lively, and hard-working. My grandma absolutely loved everyone on all sides of our family. Nearly every conversation involved her dear family. She did her best to make sure that everyone was aware of how proud she was of them.

No matter the occasion, my dear grandma was always there. Her favorite phrase, "Me pego como chicle". She never missed a baby shower or birthday party. She'd give my mom a call telling her to get the family together so we'd all travel squished into one car.

Everyone can agree on one thing, she was the jokester of the family. She always had a joke ready and was always ready for a good laugh. Her dimples would become more noticeable by the second.

My grandmother was adored and cherished by everyone around her. Anywhere she went, there were sure to be smiles, laughter and fond memories being made.

Consuelo Hernandez was a kind and gentle soul who was always able to worm her way into anyone's heart. That much is for certain.
