On August 8th, 2025, our beloved Cody passed away unexpectedly in a drowning accident. Cody was a bright light in our lives—he loved astrology, exploring nature, and sharing his passion for gaming with others. He streamed regularly on Twitch as Smithster716, and his tag name was Kira. Cody’s warmth and curiosity brought people together, and he always made conversations richer by sharing his love for learning about different cultures. He was proud of his Native American heritage and was an active member of the LGBT community, caring deeply for his cats and his husband.


Our family is organizing Cody’s funeral and working to bring him home from Michigan to Ohio, so he can be laid to rest with his loved ones. We’re raising funds to cover transportation and funeral arrangements, hoping to honor Cody’s memory in a way that reflects his vibrant spirit. We want to create a service that celebrates his love for nature, gaming, and the connections he made with everyone around him.
