Honoring Coach Mark: Help His Family

My name is Holly Gibson, and I am organizing a gofundme for Mark Curl, my son's well-loved Special Olympics coach. Mark passed away Nov. 21, 2025, after a sudden illness. My goal is to raise money to help his family with medical, funeral and ongoing expenses.
He and his family are always the first ones to help others, and I am hoping those of us whose lives have been changed by Mark can come together to support his family.
Mark gave selflessly to hundreds of Special Olympics athletes for 15 years, teaching them to love softball, floor hockey, bowling, volleyball, and basketball. He spent almost every week of his life coaching and encouraging the athletes. His gentle way brought out the best in everyone.
He spent his days working at Stanion Wholesale Electric in their warehouse for 35 years. He was a dedicated worker and a friend to all.
After work, he was passionate about his family, drag racing, tornados, and coaching Special Olympics. His hundreds of friends could not help but become swept up in his enthusiasm...and they were the better for it. He never knew a stranger.
It is my hope that those whose life have been touched by Mark will be able to donate to his gofundme page. All the money (except the 2.9% taken by gofundme) will go to the family to pay for medical, funeral, and expenses.
Please pay the love forward and drop any encouraging prayers, thoughts and reflections for the family.
