It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Coach Lamar Butler Sr. a beloved mentor, leader and friend to so many in our community. Coach Butler dedicated his life to shaping young athletes both on and off the court, instilling not just basketball skills, but values of discipline, teamwork, and integrity.

Coach Butler wasn’t just a coach—he was a husband, a father, a grandfather, and a father figure to so many young men in the DMV community. His smile was contagious and his impact reached far beyond the game of basketball. Now, as we mourn his loss, we also have the opportunity to give back to the man who gave so much to us.
