It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of an outstanding and truly special man. Coach Bob Bafia succumbed to the side effects of his battle with cancer and congestive heart failure on the morning of June 25th.

If you know Coach Bob, you know that he was an extraordinary man who loved the game of baseball and his knowledge about the sport was unparalleled. He loved the sport and did everything he could to impart his knowledge to anyone who wanted to learn. Coach Bob was instrumental in developing a lot of kids into extremely talented players, with many continuing their baseball careers in college and some at the professional level. As passionate as he was about baseball, his biggest love was the love of his players and watching them develop over time. He was proud of every one of them and talked about them often.

We initiated this GoFundMe campaign to ease the financial strain on the Bafia family to cover Coach Bob's medical bills, memorial services, and a celebration of Coach's life. Your contribution will make a significant difference helping the Bafia family tie up loose ends while honoring the life of a San Diego Baseball Legend.
