Help Support the Lopez Family After a Tragic Loss

My name is Karla Haynes, and my family had to privilege of being close friends for many years with Alberto and Amanda. Our community has suffered an unimaginable loss of Alberto (Coach Bert) Lopez. We are heartbroken to share that a loving husband, devoted father to 4 beautiful girls, dedicated baseball coach, and loyal friend tragically lost his life in a car accident.

In his final act of love and selflessness, he took the brunt of the impact to protect his wife and two of his daughters. While his courage saved their lives, both daughters suffered multiple broken bones. One will require surgery on her femur, and they both have a long road to recovery.

As this family grieves the loss of the man who was the center of their world, his wife is now faced with the overwhelming responsibility of caring for their daughters, helping them heal physically and emotionally, and navigating life without her partner by her side.

The financial burden ahead is significant for Amanda. Especially after losing her husband who helped financially provided for their family. Between funeral expenses, hospital and medical bills, surgery and rehabilitation costs, and the everyday expenses of raising a family alone. They need the support of those who know and love them—and anyone whose heart is moved by their story.

We are hoping to raise $25,000 to cover some of the medical costs and traveling to and from the hospital. We are hoping to help ease some immediate financial burdens of bills so that Amanda can focus on her and her daughters healing. We want to relieve whatever financial burdens we can by giving to their family because we all know how much time and energy coach Bert gave to ours.
