Honoring Clara & Supporting Women in Recovery

Clara was electric, free, funny, deeply loving, and fiercely loyal. She brought joy wherever she went, turned mundane moments into celebrations, and loved her people loudly, without reservation. Music, laughter, water, sunshine, dancing in the car, and being close to those she loved meant everything to her. Clara lived an incredibly full life for her age, yet she had so much life left to live.

Clara identified as a recovering alcoholic and addict who fought hard for her sobriety and for her mental health. For 23 months, she leaned fully into recovery, becoming a beacon of light to other women. She always showed up and offered support, free of judgment, making sobriety feel cool, hopeful, exciting, and possible. During this time, she chased her calling to work with children and became a preschool teacher, where her warmth and love left a lasting impact.

Clara passed away on Monday, January 5. She was deeply loved and will be forever missed.

This fundraiser was originally created to help support Clara’s funeral and memorial. We have made the intentional decision to shift the purpose of this fundraiser to solely supporting women seeking recovery and treatment services who may not otherwise have access to care. 100% of the proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to help other young women in the Bay Area access treatment services and recovery support.

Funds raised will be used on a case-by-case basis to potentially cover:
  • Detox admission costs
  • Residential treatment admission cost
  • Sober living housing and deposits

We will continue to share Clara’s story so that the impact of her life endures. Every dollar raised will be directed intentionally by Clara’s family and myself, in alignment with what Clara stood for: community, compassion, authenticity, and showing other women that recovery is worth fighting for.

Thank you for helping us honor Clara – unapologetically herself, always loved, and forever a light whose legacy will continue changing lives.
