Honoring Clara Sonifrank: Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Clara Elizabeth Sonifrank, a beloved daughter, sister, niece, and friend, passed away on July 09, 2025 at the age of 36.
Born in Albemarle County on October 11, 1988, Clara was a long-time resident of Harrisonburg, Virginia. She graduated from Bridgewater College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.
Clara was a kind and loving soul who enjoyed reading, basketball, March Madness, and the Washington Commanders. She especially enjoyed the cooler months of the year, shopping, and spending time with the special people in her life. She loved God and cared very deeply for her family and friends. Clara never met a stranger and had a huge heart for animals. She was loved by so many who will miss her big smile and contagious laughter. Clara loved to always be on the move, never sitting still except for sharing precious moments with loved ones.
A Celebration of Life for Clara will take place on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, 4:00pm-7:00pm at Shady Oak Fellowship Hall, located at Weaver’s Mennonite Church. Guests are invited to come anytime between 4:00 and 7:00 PM for an informal time to talk to family and friends and honor Clara's life. Light refreshments will be provided, and a short service and prayer will begin at 5:00 pm. Please feel free to bring any pictures or stories you would like to share in Clara’s honor.
Address: 2501 Rawley Pike, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
Thank you to everyone for the outpouring of love and support.
A favorite verse of Clara's, Jeremiah 29:11, offers comfort and peace and the hope of eternal life:
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Thank you for helping us honor the memory of Clara Sonifrank. Any donations will be used to help cover memorial expenses.
