If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance that a symphony of emotions rises up at the sight of those two letters. Love, friendship, memories, smiles, laughs, rascality, vibes, etc… ahhh… good ol ceej…
I’m putting this GoFundMe together for 100% of the proceeds to go to the Harper family for Christmas ‘25 for CJ’s headstone at Stow Cemetery.
I have talked to Michelle multiple times about her plan here. The space is picked out, and the Harper’s have been saving up money for this headstone for these two years. And frankly it’s just been difficult for her to take the first step. Understandably so… Not only will this help them out financially, but it is a reminder to them that we are still here with them and want to thank them for the gift of their son/brother.
For all who feel both the pain and the radiance of love and friendship from our good ol friend Ceej, a headstone is a place to reconnect with that pain and with that love whenever is needed. To reconnect with him. To honor him. As he honors us and honored us with the grace of his friendship.
I’m hoping that this will give the Harper’s enough of a financial cushion to get a nice headstone that has CJ’s face on it - which my buddy Josh Richardson has on his stone at Stow Cemetery - and may be a bit more expensive than a traditional headstone… How much they want to spend on the headstone will ultimately be up to them obviously, but I can easily think of at least two dozen people who would benefit greatly from being able to go to a specific place in Stow for the rest of our lives to see his face. To take your kids to introduce them to your old bud. To see his face again, and then to take that love and friendship that is re-awakened in you and pass it onto the next friend you see - from CJ, to you, then to the world as a positive force of love and compassion. Keeping his spirit alive - even though he doesn’t need our help in doing that. ❤️
A small extension of the heart from one person to another can be the most powerful force in the universe. That’s the Christmas intent here. A little smile from each of us to the Harper’s on Christmas when they will be missing their boy deeply, each a little healing bandaid on a bruised heart. Helping with this goal of getting a headstone so further healing can be achieved. What else do we have to offer each other besides this acknowledgement of each other’s hearts and performing acts towards each other that remind us that we aren’t alone… When you have good friends like the Harper’s, they make it known that you are not alone. Always going above and beyond in the name of friendship. And here we have a chance to show them a little appreciation in the reverse. Seems fruitful to me. Seems like it might make CJ proud that not only are we not forgetting him, but we are still transforming potential energy into good in his wake.
I know that many of you that I am sending this link to loved your brother CJ with all of your heart - the amount of $$ you have available to pitch in is irrelevant, please don’t stress about that - it’s all about the intention. Your love for CJ is not outweighed by another’s simply because they might have more available at this time to offer.
My plan is to give them access to this account on December 25th after giving them a card with all of our names in it.
